Look around you where ever you are right now. What do you see?
Next, think about your life and ask yourself if you are happy with what you achieved so far?
Everything around you and everything in your life is a direct result of the way you think.
The Story Of A Quarter.
I'm sure everyone who is reading this has heard about a guy called Anthony Robbins or Tony Robbins as he mostly referred to.
For those of you who don't know Tony, he is probably one of the best life coaches and motivational speakers in the world.
In one of his seminars, Tony told a story of a night when he was in Boston.
This was a long time ago when Tony was still rising and starting to have some success.
He was feeling energized one night so he was walking around the streets of Boston.
He was enjoying his walk but at some point he walked passed a homeless man.
The man was sitting at the side of the street.
The homeless man asked Tony for a quarter.
Tony stopped and again the man looked at him and said “I need a quarter. Can you please give me a quarter.”
So Tony stood there for a moment thinking about his decision.
He wasn't sure because he doesn't want to encourage the idea of being a beggar.
But then he thought OK let me help him because he feels bad for the man and he wants help whenever he can.
But Tony thought he would use this moment to teach this man a very important lesson about life.
So Tony asked the man “Are you sure that all you want is a quarter?”
The man immediately replied because he was sensing the tall man was about to give him a quarter.
So the homeless man said, “Yes a quarter! It will change my life if you give me a quarter”.
So Tony sticks his hand into his pocket and pulls out a pack of hundreds.
This made room for Tony's hand to reach deeper into his pocket to get to the quarter.
The homeless man suddenly had all his focus on the hundred's.
So there was Tony standing with a pack of hundreds in his left hand and a quarter in his right hand
The man kept on staring at the hundreds.
Then Tony said, “Life will give you whatever you ask of it”.
Then Tony flicked over the quarter to the man and walked away.
That day was probably one of the biggest lessons that man ever learned in his life.
But this is a lesson for all of us.
And the lesson is clear:
Life Will Give You What You Ask Of It.
This is the key to everything you want.
It all comes down to your beliefs in yourself and what you are capable of.
One of the best books I ever read was a book called “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.
There is a part in the book that refers exactly to the lesson that Tony Robbins taught the homeless man.
Napoleon Hill wrote, “Remember, no more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty.”
It's All A Choice .
And it all starts with your desire for being the best and wanting the best in your life.
For most of us change start with some kind of setback, disappointment or time of unhappiness.
That is when we shine a big light on ourselves that exposes all the weakness in our lives.
That moment shows us what we need to change about ourselves to get better and ask for more in our lives.
The lowest points in our lives are often the medicine we need to transform everything and become great.
But you have to ask for more in your life.
You have to expect a higher standard for yourself in everything you do.
But it's a process that takes time to create.
And it all starts with a decision and a desire for more in your life.
You need to become hungry and then turn that hunger into an obsession.
But if you accept that “quarter” or if you accept losing then you will get a lot more of that coming your way.
So reset your expectations.
Stop expecting quarters and scraps in life and start demanding more from life.
Expect to dominate in everything you take part in.
But for that to turn into a reality you need to do your part.
Nothing In Life Just Happens.
Start believing in yourself that you can take your desires and dreams and turn them into reality.
Raise your standards and expect great things to come your way.
Its this mindset that will create abundance and wealth in your life.
So forget about the quarter and rather go for that bag full of gold.
There is an old saying “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
If you set your expectations at a very high level and you are consistent in everything you do in terms of hard work then you can do anything.
And remember even if you don't reach your massively high goals you will still be way ahead of the pack and standing among the winners.
Go out and ask for more!
One Last Thing
You have to start believing that it's possible.
You have to dream big and believe that those things will become a reality.
Don't just wish or hope.
That is not enough.
You need to be a dreamer again like you were when you were a boy.
Let those dreams run wild and believe in them with your heart and soul.
Most people believe with their heart and soul that they will get nothing in life.
And guess what?
That is exactly what they get.
Just flip the script and start believing that you will get everything that you ask from life if you are willing to do the work.
Start believing!
Have faith and see things change.
