Civilization is an awesome thing and its something that is taken for granted in the time we live in.
Most people are spoilt by the fruits of this incredible thing called civilization.
Many people don't realize how sensitive and fragile it is.
We also forget at what price it came.
Thousands lost their lives to give us this incredible structure that makes modern life possible.
To show my appreciation for these incredible men that build this awesome world we live in I thought I would make a list of some of the coolest things in our civilization.
Before We get to the list lets take a q quick look at what civilization is:

OK, so now let's look at some awesome things about civilization:
1.Running Water
We seem to forget that most people in third world countries live without clean drinking water.
Most of us living in first world countries open a tap and we can drink the water.
2.Hot showers
Hot Showers one of the best things in the world.
Few things calm the body and mind after a long day of working hard.
We have created technology that gives us steaming hot water without lifting a finger.
3.Toilets (and toilet paper)
There was a time in human history where sewage was running through the streets and you had to look where you were walking.
It was a cause of a lot of disease and bad living conditions.
Today we have toilets and toilet paper that has made life clean and convenient.
Anyone that has spent some time away from civilization knows how good it is to have a toilet and toilet paper.
4.Commercial Farming
Commercial farming has made it possible to feeds large groups of people and creating so much excess that we don't have to worry about food.
The skills of modern farmers combined with science create farms that provide food for countries around the world.
5.Safety
If you live in a first world country like the US, Canada, and others then you are living in relative safety compared to many other places in the world.
Our Professional military and law enforcement have made it possible for people to live safe lives.
Our Incredible soldiers, marines, sailors, and airman provide for us the freedom to live quality lives.
We can call the police at any time 24 hours a day if we feel threatened.
People don't realize how convenient that is. If you are in danger or threatened you just pick up the phone.
6.Hospital on Call 24 Hours
Sick?
Broke your leg?
No problem there are doctors and nurses on call 24 hours a day.
7.Hygiene
Standards of hygiene enforced by the government have reduced disease and expanded the quality of life.Soap and water changed the game.
8.Antibiotics
Antibiotics were first discovered in 1928 by Alexander Fleming in London.
It was first used in the 1940's. Before then infections and surgeries were dangerous.
Since then we can do complicated surgeries without the fear of infection.
We can also treat a wide variety of infections with this incredible medicine.
9.Internet
The internet has connected the world.
It has also changed the world in a yet to be a fully understood way.
We can now do business on a global scale within seconds.
10.Satellites
We can watch sports games and news broadcasts 24 hours a day thanks to satellites orbiting the earth.
11.Airplanes
World travel has become super easy thanks to the Wright brothers and their incredible intelligence, courage, and determination.
They were the 2 crazy guys who wanted to fly and then they did.
They changed the world.
We can now travel anywhere in the world within 24 hours.
12.Cell Phones
Cell Phones are little supercomputers we carry around.
The computers in our smartphones are more advanced than some of the earlier computers on the rockets we send to space.
13.Computers
Computers have made it possible to find knowledge and finish work at super speeds.
14.Coffee
Coffee is one of the miracle drinks of this planet.
It's the best friend of the soldier, worker and many others who want to stay focused and on point.
Besides the mental benefits, it tastes great and is great for a social get together.
Coffee is available on every street corner.
15.Cars
Today you can buy any car you want and be driving around within minutes.
If you got the cash you can drive away with a Ferrari and have the time of your life.
These types of machines are advanced, complex and an incredible achievement that makes life convenient and fun.
16.Modern Clothing
We don't walk around in rags anymore and we don't need to be super rich to own good quality clothing.
Clothing stores are around every corner and make it easy for us to look good.
17.Whiskey
I'm not a big drinker but I do appreciate good Scotch now and then.
Whiskey has build friendships and relaxed many men around the world since ancient times.
Today you can buy some of the finest whiskey around the corner.
18.Freedom of Speech
The most important part of any Free Civilization is Free Speech.
This truly is one of our greatest achievements and one worth defending.
It's sad to see how people are attacking the very foundation of our freedom.
19.Laws
We need rules to regulate and control our worst impulses as humans.
It gives structure to our society and creates boundaries that help us make sense out of the natural chaos that exists in lawless societies.
The legal system is also one of the most important achievements of our modern world.
Laws that give rights to humans is an incredible thing and one we should protect.
20.The Constitution
The laws are the rules but the constitution is the blueprint by which we live.
The Constitution of the USA is the greatest document created by humans on this planet.
It's an idea that makes America great.
21.Weapons
Weapons is and always will be the backbone of our life on this planet.
Its the survival tools that we will always have with us no matter what.
Modern rifles, assault rifles, pistols, and even bows are incredible weapons.
We use them for hunting and self-defense.
It showcases the incredible craftsmanship passed down through generations.
It keeps individuals, neighborhoods, states, and countries safe.
22.Capitalism
“An economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.”
This system gives us all the freedom to build any life we want.
Conclusion
No country or civilisation is perfect.
No human is perfect.
We are all flawed.
But the human will and spirit have pushed us to create incredible civilisations out of chaos.
Modern life was build by hard men and we should appreciate what they sacrificed to give us what we have today.
This is a great achievement and something we should celebrate.
